ITINERARY IN DETAIL

 

DAY 1:  DENPASAR – ENDE  – MONI (-/L/D)

Get a morning domestic from Bali flight to Ende. Welcome and service upon arrival then direct transfer Wolotopo Village to observe the Lionese traditional house compound and the people’s daily life. Back to Ende for Luncheon at the local Restaurant. After lunch then drive throught the mountainous road that presents scenic panorama to reach up to Moni. Dinner and overnight at Kelimutu Ecolodge.

DAY 2:  MONI – KELIMUTU – BAJAWA (B/L/D)

Early morning drive up to reach the summit of the Volcano to witness the sun rise and to see the mysterious and dramatic three coloured lakes Kelimutu. Upon  arrival have a light hikking for 1,5 km and then  ascend 127 steps  to top  to view Kelimutu's green, blue and black lakes. A Dutch Geologist discovered Kelimutu in 1914; at the time the lakes were red,  blue and white. Descend to Moni village to view beautiful hand woven clothes and to visit Koanara village famous for its traditional Lionese houses. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Ende. After having lunch proceeds to Bajawa with stop at Panggajawa Beach to observe the the blue stones. Another stop to be made at Mataloko Dutch School building and Wogo Village. Stop might be made depends on any local happenings along the road. Upon arrival check in to Edelweis hotel.  Dinner will be served at Camelia Restaurant or Lucas restaurant.

DAY 3:  LUBA – BENA – TOLOLELA – GURUSINA – MALANAGE (/L/D)

After having breakfast start an exploration around the slope of the Majestic Inerie Volcano to see the villages where people do preserve their oringinal belief and practices their worship to the ancestral spirits in their way of life, which can be seen in the rows of "Ngadhu" and "Bhaga"; conical thatched roof huts and its couple mini houses symbolizing their Male and Female ancestral spirits. Those can be found at Mangulewa, traditional houses in Luba, Bena, Tololela and Gurusina. On the way stop at Manulalu to have a breath taking and to view Inerie active volcano and for photographs. A two hours light trekking from Bena throung the slope of the Inerie Volcano to reach to Tololela and Bo Village. And a one hour trekking from Bo to Gurusina passing through bamboo plantations. Continue the trip by car to the hotsprings at Malanage the place to relax before reaching back to the town. Lunch box is to be provided. Check in to the hotel.

DAY 4:  BAJAWA – RUTENG – LABUAN BAJO (B/L/D)

After having breafast start a trip throung the mountain range and tranquil rainforest that presents dramatic impressions, driving westward with a stop in Aimere to observe the process of local liquor “arak” making. A short trekking will be made for a breathtaking of the fresh atmosphere on Ranamese's tranquil rainforest surroundings. Ranamese means “big lake” in the local language; It is 11,5 ha sized lake was a crater which eventually created deep-slope bank of water. The lust rainforest covers the surrounding the lake has been home to endemic birds. Another stop will be made at and at Cara Village to  have a light hiking to the hill to see "LINGKO" spider web rice field on CANCAR. Head westward to Labuanbajo, passing through the lush jungles and some scenic landscapes along the way. Scenic panoramas along the road from Bajawa to Labuanbajo gives special impression. Late in the afternoon arriving in Labuanbajo and check in at Centro Bajo Hotel for dinner and overnight. Lunch to be served in Ruteng and Dinner in Labuan Bajo

 

DAY 5:  LABUANBAJO – RINCA – LABUANBAJO (B-L-D)

After having breakfast transfer to the harbor, embark a wooden vessel to have a cruise sailing to Rinca Island  one island of the group of islands as the original habitat of the Komodo Dragon to observe the gigantic reptile on the earth; the direct descendant of the gigantic reptiles of thousand years ago. Other animals like Timor deer, wild buffalo, long tailed macaque, wild broars and also numerous of birds such as lesser sulphur crested Cockatoo, collared kingfisher etc will also be found on this National Park. Short trekking on the island will be conducted by local ranger along this natural preservation.  Reembark to the boat and sail back to Labuanbajo. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 6:  LABUANBAJO – DENPASAR

After having breakfast transfer to airport for flight to Denpasar/NEXT DESTINATION
