CODE :  007/PAC/Q-FAT  -  08 DAYS/07 NIGHTS KOMODO AND FLORES

This special package will be cruising with local boat and do the overland is certainly a very nice package having a combination of two highlights in Lesser Sunda, they are the Three Color Lake Kelimutu and the world heritage seeing the island inhabited by Komodo dragon. The package will be featuring Labuhan Bajo, Komodo or Rinca Island, Ruteng, Bajawa and Maumere.

ITINERARY IN DETAIL:

 

DAY 01: ARRIVAL  LABUAN BAJO – RINCA – LABUANBAJO  (D)
 
Upon in Labuan Bajo, our staff is ready at the airport with a sign board of your name or specific sign. He or she will service and assist you at the airport, then direct transfer to the harbor, embark a Phinisi boat or a traditional wooden vessel to have a leisure sailing to Rinca Island  another island as the original habitat of the Komodo Dragon. You will see and observe the gigantic reptile on the earth the direct descendant of the gigantic reptiles of thousand years ago. You will also find many wild animals like Timor deer, wild buffalo, long tailed macaque, wild broars and also numerous of birds such as lesser sulphur crested Cockatoo, collared kingfisher etc. Short trekking on the island will be conducted by local ranger along this natural preservation.  Reembark to the boat and sail back to Labuanbajo. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel.

 

DAY 02: LABUAN BAJO – RUTENG - LIANGBUA (B, L, D)
 
After having breakfast at the hotel, early in the morning head up to RUTENG, passing through the lush jungles and some scenic landscapes along the way. Scenic panoramas along the road from Labuanbajo to Ruteng gives special impression. You will stop to have a light hiking to the hill to see "LINGKO" spider web rice field on CANCAR. Reach the very cool Ruteng city. Upon arrival in Ruteng then you will visit to Rueng Pu’u Village with the Manggaraians Gendang traditional house and Compang traditional altar. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch we will proceed the trip to Liangbua Cave the place where the archeologists found the skeleton fossil of the hobit known as Homo Floresniensis. A short learning on the museum of the Hobbit. Back to Ruteng for dinner and stay overnight

 

DAY 03: RUTENG – BAJAWA (B, L, D)


After having breakfast we will proceeds to Bajawa through the mountain ranges and tranquil rainforest thase present dramatic impression. You will have a short trekking for a breathtaking of the fresh atmosphere on Ranamese's tranquil rainforest surroundings. Ranamese means “big lake” in the local language; It is 11,5 ha sized lake was a crater which eventually created deep-slope bank of water. The lust rainforest covers the surrounding the lake has been home to endemic birds. Another stop will be made on Gemo to see the process of making traditional local liquor of ARAK, and test drinking will be a choice. Stop will also be made on Waeri the best view point to take photo of Inerie Volcano. Upon arrival Bajawa check in for overnight at Hoter Edelweis or Bintang Wisata on the town of Bajawa just nearby the local market or Silverin on the outskirt of the town. Lunch at local restaurant in Borong, Dinner will be served at local restaurant in Bajawa.


DAY 04: BAJAWA – BENA - GURUSINA – WOGO – BAJAWA (B, L, D)
 
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive Southward down the hills and mountain range to BENA traditional villages to visit the real life of Ngadha tribes on a most traditional village with original tribal houses set on the foot of INERIE Volcano (2245 m). Lunch will be served at local restaurant in Bajawa. After lunch we will drive to Mangulewa village to see rows of Ngadhu and Bhaga and stop will be made to see green coffee plantation; then  to Wogo and stop will be made at Seminary Toda Belu to visit the old building of school built by Dutch Missionary; a school for young boys prepared to be Catholic Priests and the retreat house of Kemah Tabor in Mataloko, then proceeds to Wogo traditional village. Upon arrival on the gate of Wogo village, with plain smile the local people in traditional costume in a traditional welcome greeting Sa Ngaza, followed by Jai (dance) to welcome the guests into the village center. This will be the moment to experience the tribal way of life where all the villagers are in great joy to accept the guest as the part of their family member by a rite with pig or chicken bloodshed on every hand and on the Village stage, following with the demonstration process of making sword, and the performance Bamboo traditional music, Kadhi Sagu Alu Dance, Jai Laba Rudu dance in the village stage will be shown. A dance with the sound of Laba Rudu - a drum made of human head skin which actually so rare to be shown except when support and inspire the soldiers go for a battle or welcoming the troops back to the village with victory after having a battle. At last in lively and merry of Jai (Dance) with gong gendang as the moment of farewell the villagers escort the guests walking out to leave the village and back to the hotel in Bajawa. Dinner will be served at local restaurant.
 
 DAY 05: BAJAWA – WAWOMUDHA – SOA – RIUNG (B, L, D)
 
After having breakfast at the hotel at 09.00am we will have a city tour in Bajawa then drive westward passing lush Bamboo plantations and the scenic view along the road until we reach the crater of WAWOMUDHA. Drive south and eastward to have a relax moment in SOA dipping in a pond of hot spring and soaking in the warm spring running in cascades. Of course, there will be great hunger after a dip. We will have lunch box on the spot.  After having lunch, we will have a drive to RIUNG. During the trip to Riung we may see various unique panoramas. Dinner and overnight at Catholic Missionary Guest House – Pondok SVD.
 
DAY 06: RIUNG – ENDE – WOLONDOPO – DETUSOKO (B, L, D)
 
Early in the morning walk to the port to have a boat for a short sail on the very clear sea where you may see the colourful coral reefs known as sea garden.  Sail back to RIUNG mainland for a breakfast. After breakfast we start the trip to DETUSOKO via MBAY and ENDE's scenic landscape with a stop at Penggajawa, the Beach lined with pastel blue, green, and pink stones. You'll see people sitting solitary along the shore, intently piling up stones. This cottage industry of enterprising locals sorts the stones for export as far away as Japan. Proceeds the trip to the Ende town and have a stop for visiting the museum of the Indonesia’s First President Sukarno. Lunch will be served at local Cita Rasa Restaurant. After having Lunch proceeds trip through the beach with stunning scenery and the mountainous road to reach to Detusoko. On the way stop in Wolondopo Village to see Mummi Kaki More the only one and new found mummi in Flores. Proceeds to Detusoko then check in to the monastery of the Franciscans nuns house for stay overnight. Dinner on the monastery.

 

DAY 07: TREKKING KELIMUTU TO MONI – MAUMERE (B, L, D)
 
Wake up early in the morning at 5.00 to have an excursion to KELIMUTU to see the most dramatic and mysterious three colored crater lakes.  Expectedly we will witness the wonderful sun rise from the top point of Mount Kelimutu. Trekking down the hills through the forest and local farmland with stop at Pemo village to see traditional house and visit to Koanara Village to see the traditional house compound. After having lunch you will proceed driving to Maumere through mountains with wonderful scenery. Drive through more incredible hillside scenery en route to Maumere with stop at Bliran Sina Artworking Group to see the original processing of making ikat weavings. The whole island is famed for its gorgeous textiles, with sinuous patterns tie-dyed into the threads before they're woven. Along every roadside, we see women working away at their back strap looms under a shady tree. But the highest-quality weavings, magnificent sarong are in this place. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Rest of the day free and relaxation on the beach. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

DAY 08: MAUMERE – LEDALERO – TRANSFER OUT (B,)
 
After having breakfast the rest of time will be free, then transfer out to the airport for flight to next destination
