Flores Island is occupied by openhanded people. Among the attractions on the island, the people itself are so attractive. They are so open-armed and always smiling in full friendliness to welcome all those who come to the island. For local people of the island the visitors are highly honorable and will be treated as guests instead of tourist. Therefore, in some place guests are traditionally welcomed with a ceremony of hospitality service to the ancestral spirit called Ti’i ka Ebu Nusi by which they invites the ancestral spirits to be friendly with those who visits the island. The ritual will be made by offering a chicken and rice for the ancestral spirit and being quoted with eating together.  

 

The people are proud to serve the guest staying over night at their houses.  On a community of people in the village the guests are invited to spend the night with traditional mattress made of pandanus leaf in their traditional house.
